Rosacea Diet Tips

There are certain foods and drinks which seem to have a negative effect on rosacea sufferers. Although there are no black and white rules when it comes to what you should and shouldn’t eat, there certainly seem to be some trends with particular foods causing flare ups.

Although every rosacea sufferer is different, the vast majority experience flushing and rosacea flares when they have consumed the any of the following:

Alcohol
Spicy Foods
Hot Foods
Greasy Foods
Tomatoes
Red Wine
Cheese

As said, not all of the above will cause facial flushing however most rosacea patients have recorded incidents after eating or drinking at least one of the above.

Instead, rosacea sufferers should attempt to eat more of:

Apple juice
Dark green vegetables (kale, broccoli etc)
Blueberries
Fish such as salmon and herring

All of the above have noted skin benefits. You should also be drinking at least 8 ounces of good quality water everyday. Water assists in flushing toxins from the body which assists in overall skin condition.

Red meat should be limited to one serving per week and dairy foods should be low fat products as they contain less acid.

After following these diet tips for two to three months you should notice some form of improvement in your skin.
