Best Products for Rosacea

Posted on 22 December 2008 by admin

Each person will have their own best products to treat rosacea. Rosacea is a varied condition where one person may have a very mild case and another person may suffer from a severe outbreak. Because of this, you should try and use all rosacea products on a trial basis to begin with, but give them four to six weeks to effectively determine whether they work or not.  Don’t just go by what other rosacea sufferers say about it. Remember, what works for one, may not work for others!

Here are a few general categories of Rosacea products:

Gels
Sunscreen
Cleansers
Creams

Regardless of the category of the product you’re purchasing, always choose a milder, non-irritant version if given the choice. Many companies make products specifically for rosacea sufferers and for people with sensitive skin. For example, Cetaphil cleanser is made with rosacea in mind and is dermatologist approved.

If in doubt, ask your dermatologist for a recommendation. He or she can often provide you with sample products so you do not have to spend a lot of money to start with.
I have a pile of various sunscreen brands which I trialed before I decided which one was the least irritant to my skin.

The Willowherb line of gels and cleansers are also especially made for rosacea skin. They contain gentle ingredients as well as vitamins which may be able to soothe and protect your sensitive skin.

Although some products may be a little more expensive than supermarket varieties, you can’t really put a price on taking care of your rosacea symptoms. I know I wouldn’t mind paying alot for a product if it helped me!
